Had an afternoon work appointment in Shoreham, followed by a 'pop in' to
check the beach. Very few out at 3pm, only a Peter Hart masterclass really.
Just had to sail. Rigged 5.8m on JP FS100. FULLY powered from the off,
flattened off the sail after a while. I guess tide was around the high
mark, and there was definately a swell easing in. Some good jump ramps
early on, and swell setting up for downwind swoops and cut backs. I'll big
up the board again, its an incredible all rounder, gybes anyhow you want it
and basically I was just wave riding on the deeper swells and then again on
the shorebreak with the extra width carrying through turns. Mainly waist
high stuff, but managed to get myself on most of the bigger sets that
arrived. I kept upwind of Peter Hart, Dave White and their pupils, who
seemed to have scored two days with wind but took a few decent down the
line shorebreak rides right across their spot on the beach. Definately
right kit at the right time and feeling in the groove today.
